Electro-acupuncture takes the time-honoured principles of acupuncture and gives them a modern twist.
How does electro-acupuncture work?
Whereas traditional acupuncture stimulates acupuncture points manually, electro-acupuncture sends pulses of a weak electrical current between needles. This moves the , increases blood flow and has a direct influence upon cells, tissues, fluids, muscles and nerve endings.
Following an acute debilitating muscular spasm of my lower back, one treatment by Ian using electro-acupuncture was enough to ease the pain and for me to regain mobility within a few days. Long term, my back now seems stronger and I have not had a recurrence in 12 months.

What can electro-acupuncture treat?
Electro-acupuncture is used for a wide variety of conditions including chronic pain, nerve damage, paralysis, inflammation and depleted energy.

Electro-acupuncture for pain relief
If you have sustained a sports injury or hurt yourself through some repetitive activity, electro-acupuncture can work wonders. This is because it is exceptionally good at releasing muscle tension and breaking the cycle of muscle spasm. For many clients, the benefits are almost immediate.
Does electro-acupuncture hurt?
No. Some people describe it as a tingling sensation, others say that it tickles or makes their body "buzz". According to one client, "It feels as if water is being poured over me."
